After 3 days of constant wet weather with high temps in low 60's I was surprised to see a female Monarch butterfly today. When I spotted the monarch checking out a large red zinnia flower in the garden the rain had stopped an hour before. Fall leaves were twirling in the air with every small wind gust. It was an unseasonably warm 70F ahead of expected late night, severe gusty storms further south from here. The monarch spent only a short time in this garden.
