No butterflies sighted until mid-morning when it was already 92 degrees w/ 15% humidity. High wind speed was 15 mph.
As soon as I sprayed the tall duranta bushes with the garden hose, two Monarchs and some hummingbirds swept into the yard. As the temperature climbed to 00 degrees, I periodically misted the milkweeds with a spray bottle, and the butterflies flew in and out of the yard.
One Monarch was trying to fly into the wind to reach some potted milkweeds, but it kept being blown backwards.
