Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers
Sightings report image

Date: 12/02/2019

Number: 1

It was first observed in our yard yesterday on a feeder, then on flowers. It appeared to spend just a few minutes in our yard yesterday, but today perched for about 4 hours, only leaving the perch to scare away other birds and to nectar from flowers. It did not use the feeder today. It appears to be an immature male rufous hummingbird. It is our first ever December hummingbird and our first ever rufous hummingbird (in our yard).
