Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers
Sightings report image

Date: 12/23/2019

Number: 1

Our immature male rufous hummingbird (present since 1 December 2019) is shown resting on a stem of Russelia sarmentosa, one of its favorite flowers. It is now using the feeders a lot. Yesterday we saw as well an immature male ruby-throated hummingbird, which appears to be the same one (based on its gorget pattern) as the one last seen around 9 December 2019 in our yard.
