Two southbound grays today. Although we did not see any sub-adults at the Lighthouse today, we did see two at Saunders Reef.

It is with great sadness that I report a deceased gray whale calf washed up on Manchester Beach on December 31. He was a 16 foot male. A team from the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito responded and completed a necropsy. The cause of death is listed as maternal separation.
