I went back to LU Bartley Residence today with binoculars. I sighted 2 robins at the same time in a mountain ash tree. While there I was chatting with the Director of Housing who tells me that there are 8 to 10 robins in the nearby vicinity who have been hanging out there for the last 2 weeks. He was surprised. He said the same thing happened 3 years ago (a group of robins who stuck around for the winter) but not the last 2 winters. There were plenty of berries this year in Northern Ontario (Thunder Bay) so perhaps why the robins decided to brave the winter this year.
