I am continuing to find Monarch larvae on the tropical milkweed plants I've been cultivating for the spring migration. These larvae are at various stages of development. Today's cats included 1 2ndinstar, 1 3rd instar and 1 4th instar.

I haven't noticed a female Monarch since Jan 4th, when I released the final captive-raised female, so I can only speculate when these eggs were laid. Can Monarch eggs remain in diapause for a month before hatching?
