The first two Monarch sightings of the spring came today! The first was a brief glimpse while I was walking on the north side of Ladybird Lake just east of I-35. The Monarch flew by me at a rapid rate, headed northeast. It appeared in good condition. The second sighting is in our home garden in Central Austin at this moment, where the Monarch has been feeding on Lantana blossoms for more than an hour. It's a warm, sunny day after storms yesterday, and the north breeze has calmed. I haven't seen any emerging milkweed in our area yet, however.
