Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 03/06/2020

Number: 3

Heard several robins, number of three noted is estimate

I believe I heard what is referred to as Peek and Tut. We have a large hawthorn tree with a few remaining fruits, flanked by sumac. Beyond that are woods, pines and arborvitae. We often get up to 20 robins in February, and they clean everything up, but I did not see the flock this year. I heard the noise when returning from a walk, but I just could not spot them. I did clap my hands and make shushing noises to scare off any of the neighborhood cats that roam around, though, as I usually equate that song with trouble for the birds. There were lots of small birds in the trees at that time- chickadees, and finches mostly, a titmouse or two. I hope I didn't mix up a call.
