First Monarch of the year. Sex undetermined.

The Monarch was flying through an open space between two wooded areas and I was unable to determine the sex and it did not seem to be beat up or faded but it was not newly eclosed colors either.

We do have several milkweed on the property but the only ones coming up right now are the tropical milkweed, and I have not seen any eggs on it yet.

It has been a pretty mild winter here. Last few weeks we have had days ranging from 70 -80 f with nights down in the 40-50f.
