While we have Monarchs throughout the winter, this one was very tattered and worn. It was laying eggs on a branch of curassavica. There is not much foliage at this time, the overwintering population keeps it stripped. I had cut it back to 4" in October to encourage them to migrate through. No luck with that.
My native butterfly weed has not yet sprouted.
