It was flying in the back yard and landing on my flowers
When I spotted the monarch it was just flitting around. Seemed to be searching for nectar. It was not tattered but I can’t tell you how new it might have been. Sorry no picture. By the time I identified it, I wasn’t fast enough with my phone camera.
Weather has been in the60’s and 70’s. We had a mild winter in Houston TX and the winds have not been strong.
I saw what I think was a Cloudless Sulphur the other day, and a clouded skipper on the St Augustine grass today. I’m not sure if I have seen a painted lady but there have been orange butterflies around all winter, just not close enough for me to identify.
