This monarch looked like it was in very good condition. Her color was bright and there were no tears in her wings that I could see.

We have had a mild winter this year and our drought status is abnormal dry. Last week the lows were in the upper 40s and the highs in the 70s. We did have some thunderstorms last Tuesday and we have had some light rain this week.

We were working in our school monarch gardens last weekend and as of then we don’t have any milkweed up yet here. Not sure about other places in town though. We will keep our eyes out though.
