Around 20:30 in the dark my son and I both exclaimed, "Killdeers" when we heard the familiar call of them being disturbed in the farmers field. First time this year. Unseasonably warm temperatures yesterday (17C) and today (15C) Steady South wind.

How easy it is we seem to forget the friends that leave each Autumn only to remind us again of their existence upon their return. Would we notice their absence if they did not come back?
