I had heard that tulips won't come back in a warm zone like our Zone 9 Sacramento-area location, that they'd only bloom once. But after someone gave me a tulip in a pot as a gift, I planted it in an old pot in the back yard. Despite being completely neglected, it comes back year after year. I think I should plant many, many more tulips in my garden! :)
