Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 03/10/2020

Number: 1

Saw one female Monarch. After she flew away, I checked leaves on a couple milkweed plants where she landed, saw a couple eggs on underside of leaves.

We do NOT have any monarchs in this part of Florida during the winter months. We had not seen any butterflies in about 5 months! Some monarchs stay in south Florida, like Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, etc., but not here in our area. ... We are about 60 miles due east from the Gulf of Mexico, so I assumed these were coming from those arriving on the West coast of FL.
