Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/11/2020

Number: 1

Migratory adult. Faded wings. Nectaring in early blooms (hen bit mainly).

It was in my yard and was weathered. I could not tell if it was a male or female. Our milkweeds aren’t quite up yet. This individual was nectaring on henbit flowers, which here is one of the only good pollinator plants blooming right now.

I was surprised to see it so early but it was 100% a monarch.
