Bald Eagle
Sightings report image

Everywhere I go within the Columbia and Greene county (NY)area, I'm seeing more and more bald eagles. 2yrs ago, I had a pair nesting right across the lake in front of my home. I watched the female patiently sit on her nest while the male gathered food. Now I see the black juvenile flying around with them! Also this very same year, 10 miles down from my house I spot 2 babies with their beautiful mother! Across the Hudson River, I spot another pair! Could they be the same couple? I don't think so, at least the two babies are new.. or is the Hudson valley blessed to have this beautiful bird thrive here? Im not sure. It isn't just bald eagles either, we thrive with many birds of prey.. golden eagles, every hawk imaginable, owls (though I personally yet to see one) even saw an American Wood Duck! So beautiful!! I'm a bit hesitant to post this since I don't want to draw attention that could hurt them, but to keep this all to myself seems unfair. If you do visit, please respect our town and everything in it! Thanks!
