Saw a monarch fluttering around on my milkweed. I was in a meeting inside my house and happened to be looking out the window when I saw it, so I didn't get a photo or a great look, but I saw a few others this afternoon as well while outside and they all looked pretty fresh and bright. The several monarchs I saw today were all flitting around in the air pretty actively. The one I reported on, was flitting around then resting on the milkweed I have planted in pots in my yard.
The milkweed never died over the winter (we had a pretty mild winter here in central Texas) and is still blooming, and I've been waiting to see monarchs using it this spring. Today was the first I noticed them. I have 2 very large milkweed plants in pots in my backyard.
