All Other Signs of Spring

First catbird. Also, grackles are pairing off, with much posturing and bill-ups by the males. Robins were out back in the grassy field this morning, looking for all the world like a female had shown up: fights and in-air squabbles. Running after each other and stopping. The sun wasn't good enough for me to tell if there was a female there, but that's been the behavior every year of the 7. Also heard some sawn singing from robins all over the neighborhood.

House finches are singing and feeding mates. Redwing blackbirds in my field are still flock feeding at times, followed by what appears to be the same alpha male from last year driving off some males, while allowing a lucky two others to remain as subordinates. The last two years had three males and between 6 and 7 females in the field.
