The photo is one of 3 winter-resident hummingbirds banded and color-marked at our house on 26 January 2020 by veteran bander Nancy Newfield. The bird shown is an immature male rufous hummingbird which has been observed at our house since late November 2019, and first photographed on 1 December 2019. We also caught and banded another immature male rufous hummingbird which has been observed at our house since 6 December 2019. The third bird has appeared in previous reports. It is an adult female ruby-throated hummingbird which first appeared in December 2019 or January 2020.
