Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/13/2020

Number: 3

Two more today so far, but our milkweed has not recovered from winter trim. The monarch was faded from what I am use to, but very, very active - did not like me taking it's picture.

This picture is of another Monarch that visited us while I was outside the next day. It sat low on one of the nursery milkweeds I had out, getting ready for the swarm of caterpillars. We seem to get enough to devour twenty decent size milkweed plants in butterfly cages plus that that gets eaten outside in the flower beds.

Since we never really had a hard freeze to justify cutting our milkweed back, we're probably running late in our flower bed milkweeds, so no joy for early butterflies.
