Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/13/2020

Number: 2

Two adults sighted at different times on same date in flight at Gus Engling Wildlife Management Area in Tennessee Colony.
They were in decent shape. I did not see them clearly and close enough to accurately describe their wing condition. I do not have any pictures. They were gliding when I saw them. I saw one cross the road, and another that was gliding along it.

There was no milkweed in bloom that I saw. There were bluebonnets in the region that had bloomed, as well as other flowering plants: rose vervain, ragwort, dewberry, blue-eyed grass, milkvetch spp., medicago, blue sage, and dogwood.

I did also spot Red Admirals, a Queen, and Tiger Swallowtails during our four days on the WMA.
