Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/03/2020

Number: 4

I placed 4 larve in my 'nursery' March 3, 2020 and raised them to chrysalis now 3/17/2020. I expect butterflies around 3/24/2020. I raised total of 6 so far, from larve in nursery and 2 caterpillars. This is my 4th year raising Monarchs. I have personally raised well over 150 in those years. During November I was able to get eggs to raise from my milkweed. After those few, there were no more until the 4 larve on March 3. Am hopeful to find more, but milkweed is scarce here in KW. I do have 5 plants that are completely depleated raising the six I raised. Am hopeful for new growth before finding more to raise. Others have reported seeing occasional Monarchs around out park, even down to KW. Keep on raising, Trish
