surprise for me since last yr's first sighting was 27 Mar. Again too much snow on the ground so am throwing unsalted peanuts and raisins on driveway. Unfortunately a favourite with red squirrels, chipmunks, starlings, etc too. So I wait 'til I see the male before throwing out the food. BTW seemed to be accompanied by a female on 15 Mar flying by the house but haven't seen a female since. Too cold to leave windows open so "hearing" is out of the question.
