Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/17/2020

Number: 5

10 monarchs visited milkweed and other flowers.
We saw the monarchs between 1145 & 1600.
Some monarchs were faded and tattered while others were bright and fresh.

We have milkweed plants, Canna lilies, butterfly bushes, hibiscus, a veggy garden and a mature lemon tree with hundreds of flowers on it. The monarchs would visit the lemon tree or butterfly bushes then hit up the milkweed plants. Sometimes they would stop for food then proceed straight out of the yard without fluttering around the MW. Our neighbors also have lemon trees in their yard and monarchs were seen flying around their treetops. Sometimes the monarchs would enter the yard, check out the various flowers and keep moving without stopping.
