Turkey vultures. After rescuing a few stranded worms from the driveway and checking on the birdfeeders and the birdbath, I took a walk around the yard and noticed the familiar V-shape over my neighbour's forrest. It seemed like a possible family group of three. They were flapping more than usual but this was probably due to the overcast conditions. There was a moderate steady South wind that was probably helping them as they seemed to be searching for a thermal over the McDonald-Cartier freeway just north of here. Although these 3 were just passing through I am hoping for our residents to show up soon. I have thrown many a dead carcass from the roadway into the farmer's fields awaiting their arrival.
