At least 2, maybe more. It (they!!) kept moving around, busily nectaring on a fully blooming Bradford pear, along with large bees, other bees, many other butterflies of several different types. BUSY TREES!! Finally knew for sure it was at least 2 when 1 became territorial, or twitter-pated ; ), and the chase was on!! No chance for pictures that could be CLEARLY seen.
