So surprised to have spotted a female Monarch butterfly while at a friend's house this afternoon. (I verified she was a Monarch and not a Viceroy by getting within a few feet of her. No photo though.) She appeared to be searching for milkweed as she was flitting from plant to plant, low to the ground. However, no milkweed is growing here yet. :(
