Sightings report image

Date: 03/27/2020

Number: 1

She looked a little worn. Was ovipositing on what little (VERY LITTLE) milkweed she could find. First wave of caterpillars has wiped out my milkweed. She is pictured here on a 1.5" tall Common Milkweed plant, which has since been consumed by a 4th instar caterpillar. I would not have been able to raise the egg - I do not have any milkweed to feed it. This split migration is bad news for the 2nd half. :(
