Robin (Nesting Behavior)

Date: 03/31/2020

Number: 3

Mamá Robin has laid 2 eggs so far on back deck porch. Another nest is under construction in tree at rear of property, while a nest is under construction right in front of living room window.

The front nest is fascinating to watch under construction. Robin dips to ground to gather mud and dried grasses for nest. The mud mix is carefully shoved into best at various locations before Robin tramples nest, ruffles it's feathers as it turns around and around to shape the nest properly.

We had two tornadoes in area Sat night. I figured the nest would be destroyed, but morning showed them all intact.
