Number: 1

I have a vertical ham antenna in my backyard. Three years ago,2017, a male Ruby Throat decided to perch on one of the radial wires up about 40', and guard the yard. He stayed all summer long, anytime you went out and looked up, he was sitting on the antenna guarding the feeders in the yard. I could believe it when he came back in 2018 and 2019, that's one traveled little bird. This year I removed old antenna and was getting ready to install new one, BUT, it had no radial wires, just straight 2" tube.
I couldn't make my self put it up without some kind of perch, if against all odds, my antenna bird came back for a fourth year. So I took some plexi and made a ring, drilled it and used 1/8" plastic rods to make a perch.
He showed up for his fourth year on 04/02/20. Pic is him sitting 40' up on his new perch. It was a great day, one I had made the perch and two he actually showed up and now, again, sitting up there all day guarding HIS yard.
