I had to finger-rake the weeds and leaves away from the ground to see the common milkweed sprout. I saw one, then stopped looking. There are usually a lot of plants growing in this area. It’s a good source for food for my Monarch caterpillars. I have some milkweed in my garden, but I usually collect leaves from other places, too, so as not to strip my plants to feed my caterpillars.
