The pair was in the area together. One, I think the female, had begun building a nest on the top of our eaves spout. I watched it pull a long piece of string out of the grass, fly to the nest, begin tucking it in, something startled it, it flew off.
Then the sparrows, who have nested in the hollow of our steel awning for generations, destroyed and knocked down the Robins' nest.
