adult monarchs on wildflowers and milkweed
I saw the 4 monarchs late in the afternoon between 4:15 pm and 5:25 pm, all within 1/4 mile. We live on 80 acres dedicated to wildlife conservation, the pasture is a riot of wildflowers this time of year - so lots of butterflies of all species.
We also have an abundance of Antelope Horn milkweed, so I've been peeking under leaves looking for eggs. My husband and I watched the presentation by BRIT in Ft Worth about the monarchs and decided that it would be a worthwhile project for our local Texas Master Naturalist group to support. The presenter was Gail Manning and she did an excellent job.
