UNBELIEVABLE I've had feeding frenzies in the fall, but I never witnessed the frenzy I had Saturday 4/18. It all started about 6:00p.m. I identified 4 females and 2 males fighting for one feeder. The females ate together but the males chased them off. I also had 2 males fighting for another feeder. I had others at different plants in my yard. Orange cigar, pink cigar, duranta, firespike, lantana, pineapple sage, mexican flame vine, red clover and blue sage. Orange cigar plant being their favorite. They all looked healthy, but very hungry. I'm about 30 air miles from the Gulf of Mexico. Yesterday 4/19 was cloudy and very windy. Lots of activity all day. Today 4/20 beautiful day. Same amount of hummers. It's fun to watch them return to their favorite spots to rest. Then minutes later return to eating.
