Male broadtail hummingbirds overhead for the first time this season on April 20. I put out the feeder and today, April 22, saw one of them stop for a quick drink. Nights are still below freezing here in the mountains of SW Colorado, but I’ve learned that our broadtails are not just beautiful, but hardy!
