I have been seeing monarchs throughout this week ~ flying, nectaring, and egg-laying. Today I was able to take a photo of this male monarch as he nectared on self-heal flowers (Prunella vulgaris) in the late afternoon sunlight. It was around 5:30pm, 70 degrees F, with a light breeze.
