Today at 9.a.m. a female ruby throat came to Hamelia bush that is 12 feet tall due to no hard freezes. She went all around nectaring on Hamelia. Appeared again about 30 min., later flew up hovered looking around in that area. The male rubythroat was not present like yesterday. (Was she looking for him?)
Whenever migration is on rubythroats go to feeders then leave. Briefly to nectar plants. These two may be a pair nesting as I see nectaring only. I will know if little ones show up that nesting has been going on.
