Ive had a couple of male Baltimore’s on my jelly feeders for a couple of days. This morning I awoke to an amazing chorus and there are maybe a half dozen more males, including my first orchard this year and I believe I also saw 1 Bullock’s. There are also 6 or more assorted females that I’m seeing for the first time this year. Ive seen one female actually carrying nest building material and there is a lot of activity in and out of the cotton wood limbs that hang down over my pond where they have nested before. Since they don’t respond to requests for a group photo I’m not sure of the numbers, but for the last 2 years we have had 14 to 18 orioles of various types and i think we are starting to approach those numbers now.
