100% she’s a Monarch butterfly. I didn’t want to get too close with the camera at first. But she spent a couple of hours all over the milkweed in the backyard, and right next to me, after that — resting close enough to me that I could easily see she was a female too. I’ve brought in monarch eggs & cats, rearing and releasing after eclosing, for several years now. She’s a monarch!
And to confirm: I just found a monarch egg on the first plant I inspected.
