Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/04/2020

Number: 1

A single male clearly seen, late in the afternoon. I had just pulled into my driveway. He swooped in to investigate my Lonicera sempervirens. Unfortunately for him, the bright buds are not yet open, but the brilliant color attracted him. He wasn't able to feed, but I ran inside to fill a feeder and hung it up in the vine. I have not seen him again, but the fluid level has fallen a bit, so I think there is at least one bird feeding from it.
