Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/03/2020

Number: 1

When I woke up in the morning I said to myself that it was a good day for Orioles. Saturday had been very warm and windy and Sunday was starting out the same. I'd already cleaned out my feeders and when I heard the familiar whistle I quickly put the feeders up. Later that afternoon the first hummingbird arrived. It was a female!
This is the second time that a hummingbird has shown up on the same day as the Orioles. She stayed Sunday and Monday feeding and resting in the tree where the feeders hang. On Tuesday she was gone.
High of 24°C on Sunday and 12 on Monday. Overnight low 7°C Sunday to Monday and 4° Monday to Tuesday. Forecast colder for the rest of the week with -3°C expected Friday night. Hope she fares well. Creeping Charlie and Dandelions flowering here. Noticed spring bulbs such as daffodils in the community. Fruit trees blossoming.
