Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/11/2020

Number: 2

2 males at 11:20......
Just arrived back from a bike ride and came down the hill behind my house and there were 2 males going at it a bit ....way up in the air......and then they separated and went off to drink at feeders. We have 8 feeders in various locations to accommodate all that will arrive and have offspring......they are later than usual....last year it was May 5 they arrived.
We are so happy to see them as they are so delightful to watch and they actually fly around us in the summer when we are out sitting on our deck that has 4 feeders spread out. They have chattered at me in my face many times .....very bold ....comical and beautiful. We love to see the aerial arc displays of courtship by the males....we call it Cirque de Soliel:-)
