I had our feeder out since late April. It is in constant shade and I didn't change the water until I saw our first Hummingbird. I saw one small amount of something dark floating in the water, so I cleaned it well and added new sugar water for them.

If there is no visible mold in the feeder, how long should I wait in between cleaning and putting in new feed for them?

One cup of water in our feeder can last a LONG time because we don't have a constant stream of visitors.
