I've seen a few Robins already this spring around my yard but this is one was odd. It didn't fly away when I walked by. It just stared at me. So I started talking to it and got a little bit closer to see if I could see any injuries on it. It hopped away from me, but never very far. It was plump, and didn't appear to be injured in any way. It was watching me, and also occasionally eating things out of the grass. I got out the hose and watered an area of my yard to encourage the worms to come up for the robin, who watched me, but I don't know if it ever went back to that area for the worms. I followed around my yard for about 15 minutes before I had to go in. I never saw it fly. I'm still not sure if it could. I don't see it in my yard today so far. I hope it's ok. I was just so surprised at how close it let me get, within two feet, and it never flew away, only hopped.
