It surprised me by flying alongside of me and my dog in my golf cart on my gravel road heading north full speed for about 300’, then it flew around some trees out of sight still heading north, and met up alongside of us AGAIN flying beside us. It was as if it was happy to be back and saying Hi! Acting like I didn’t notice it’s beauty, grace and closeness so near I could touch it flying next to me at a darn good clip!
I have 7 acres of pollinator native Forbes fields and I’m thrilled every August to be engulfed by Monarchs as I walk the fields during the day ... all at eye level! Then at dusk, there’s a silent march as they leave the field and head to the trees at its perimeter to sleep for the night. I’m SOOOO lucky!
Wow!
