Finally a female ruby-throat hummingbird was at the fuchsia blooms and the feeder today. I have had the feeder out since April, bringing it in at night to avoid the nectar freezing. Last year the hummingbirds were here early, but not this year, maybe because of the very cold weather. I may have seen this little one last week but can't be sure, since she flew quickly to the blooming rhododendron and quince blossoms then away.
