Sitting in the backyard and watching a Tiger Swallowtail go by when I noticed the shadow of another large butterfly passing by. I ran out in the open to view it and it was an adult monarch. Excellent condition and moving north.
We have had a few local people share caterpillar pictures so I should have been ready to spot this one.
Such a wonderful delight to view these rare and beautiful butterflies.
