Hummingbird, Rufous (FIRST)

Date: 06/19/2020

Number: 1

Rufous hummingbirds show up in this part of Oregon for a very brief duration to refuel on their way farther north to breed. After breeding they make their way down south and stay for weeks at a time. I just saw my first male Rufous. Soon we will have many male and female ones and for the most part they will displace the Anna's we have seen for the last few months because of their aggressive behavior.
